Kambala Bolli Guruvappa Poojary dies in road accident

Mangaluru: Kambala Bolli, Guruvappa Poojary, who is one of the ardent Kambala lover and an achiever passed away on Sunday, August 8 on an evening after he met will an accident.

The accident took place while Guruvappa Poojary (75), a scooter collided with a car near Gurupura.

Guruvappa Poojary was an ardent Kambala.

Kambala is one of the traditions of Coastal Karnataka and also a crowd entertainer. The “track” used for Kambala is a slushy paddy field. The Kambala runner usually races with a pair of buffaloes. The buffaloes are specifically groomed for the race.
