Kaniyoor: In a shocking incident, a speeding car plummeted over a bridge into a rivulet on the Manjeshwar-Subrahmanya state highway in Kaniyoor on Sunday, July 10.

It is said that the driver of the car lost control over the vehicle due to which it veered off the bridge and fell into the water body near Baitadka Masjid.

Several members including the locals are trying to hoist the vehicle out of the water. However, due to the swift water currents, the car swept away.

Also, as the recovery operations are underway, a large number of people gathered around the place and the police officials had to resort to lathi-charge to disperse the gathering.
