Kankanady PS Head Constable passes away

Mangaluru: A policeman serving at the Kankanady Police Station died at a hospital due to ill health on September 19, police said.

Head constable Jayant Kumar H R died at the Father Muller Hospital where he was being treated for an illness on the evening of September 19, police said in a statement.

Jayant Kumar joined the police department in 1997 and has served at various police stations across Dakshina Kannada, including Sullia, Mangaluru North, Mangaluru South, and Urwa police stations.

He had been deputed to the Kankanady police station as head constable 4 years ago, police added.

Jayant Kumar was the son of Bikarnakatte residents H P Ramachandra and Chandravathi.
