Kannada Cinema Industry stages protest against Dubbing in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A group of protesters including Kannada cine actors, directors, producers and others led by Kannada Chalavali Vatal Paksha President Vatal Nagaraj protested against Kannada movies dubbed from other languages in Bengaluru on Thursday. 

A procession was held from Mysore Bank Circle to Freedom Park as part of the protests organised. Thousands of people from around Karnataka state took part in the procession. The roads near by freedom park and Mysore bank circle witnessed heavy traffic jam following the procession. The police department has made elaborate security arrangements in the area to ensure safety of the public amid protests organised. Meanwhile, movie directors, producers have stopped shooting of their respective movies for a day following the protests called.

Speaking to the press reporters the protesters said that they would continue with the protests till their demands fulfilled as their protests aren’t limited for a day. The major heads of Kannada cine industry are planing to pressurise the state government to pass a bill in the state legislature to stop dubbing and dubbed movies in Karnataka.
