Kannada daily dismisses stringer accused of making derogatory remarks against woman

Udupi: Cyber police on Monday, June 1 arrested a man accused of making derogatory remarks against a married woman on social media.
The accused identified as Sampat Nayak was working as a stringer for a leading Kannada newspaper.
A complaint was lodged against Sampat and three others at the Karkala town police station for the deragatory remarks made against the lady in a WhatsApp group from Karkala.
It is gathered that Sampat has been granted conditional bail.
Meanwhile the Kannada newspaper, where he was employed dismissed him from service with immediate effect.
