Kapali Cinema Theatre in Bengaluru to Shut its Doors on October 12 Late Night

Bengaluru: Asia’s biggest first single screen cinema theatre in Bengaluru, ‘Kapali’ will stop screening of movies from October 13. The 49 year old cinema theatre will witness its last show on Thursday late night. The movie theatre is located at the heart of the city, Majestic and had attracted thousands of audiences during late 1970s.
The demolition works of the theatre are expected to begin soon as the land is reserved to construct of a new mall. The movie hall with 1465 seats was inaugurated by then Indian Prime Minister Morarji Desai in 1968. Kannada movie, Mannina Maga was the first movie which successfully completed 100 days in the movie hall.
