Kapu police catch three lorries trafficking cattle

Kapu: Three lorries trafficking cattle were identified and seized in an operation by the local police here at Polipu Junction in Kapu on Wednesday. Locals also assisted the cops in the operation.
According to reports, the lorries were trafficking the bovines from Kerala towards Udupi. On receiving information regarding this, pro-hindutva organization members and locals amassed at Kapu police station.
It is learnt that the police have registered a case under Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, Indian Motor Vehicle Act and Cow Transportation Act.
