Kapu: Unidentified vehicle hits pedestrians; Father killed, son injured

Kapu: An unidentified vehicle hit two pedestrians in a horrific road accident on National Highway 66 in front of Uchila Mahalakshmi Temple on Wednesday.

The pedestrians have been identified as Prabhakar Kotha a resident of Belagavi and his son Samarth (14).

Prabhakar along with his son had arrived at Kaup for enrolling his son at a school in Kutyar near Kapu. They had taken an overnight bus to reach Uchila, sources said.

An unidentified vehicle hit them when they were standing beside the highway after getting down from the bus, sources added.

Due to the impact, Prabhakar was killed on the spot. Whereas Samarth was seriously injured and has been rushed to a hospital in Udupi.

Kapu police reached the accident spot and registered a case.
