Educational institutions in the Dakshina Kannada district have been directed to conduct classes on public holidays to cover up for the loss in academic syllabus owing to the weeklong holiday given to schools and colleges.
Keeping student safety in mind, the district administration had declared a holiday for all schools and colleges in the district this week due to the heavy downpour. Unlike on previous occasions when schools and colleges had got 1-2 days’ holidays on account of the rains this time around students got a weeklong holiday owing to the red alert sounded in the district.
Schools and colleges are expected to resume from Monday, July 11.
