On Saturday, Karisma Kapoor stepped back in time by at least 30 years when she starred in an ad that was a replica of a legendary TV commercial from the late 1980s and early 1990s. The Cred campaign imitated the famous Nirma Super Detergent ad from the 1990s, with Karisma clad in a similar white saree and mimicking the original’s lines and mannerisms. Fans expressed their delight after seeing the ad on social media, claiming it sent them on a nostalgic journey.

Ms Kapoor, clad in a white saree, enters a shop and is greeted by the shopkeeper, who hands over her goods. The actor then requests a ‘charging’ from the merchant.
The shopkeeper says, “Aap toh hamesha regular charger lete the (You used to always buy the regular charger)”. In her reply, Karishma Kapoor says “Leti thi (used to take)”
She continues by explaining how she changed her mind because Cred Bounty is now giving iPhones.
Dipika Chikhlia starred in the first Nirma commercial, which debuted in 1989. Ms. Chikhlia is most recognised for her role in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan as Sita. The ad is known for the punchline ‘Maan gaye aapki paarkhi nazar (I am in awe of your sharp eye),’
