Karkala: Annual feast of Attur St Lawrence Minor Basilica begins

Karkala: The annual feast of the famous Christian pilgrimage center at St Lawrence Minor Basilica, Attur began with the festive holy mass on Sunday, February 20.
The bishop of the Shivamogga diocese, Dr. Francis Serro, presided over the inaugural holy Eucharistic celebrations in the morning. Bishop of Mangalore diocese Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha led the celebrations in the evening.
As the inaugural day was dedicated to the cause of children, scores of parents brought along their children for the special prayers organized on Sunday.
The celebrations will continue for 5 days till February 24. The annual feast, usually held in January every year, had been postponed due to the restrictions imposed for controlling the Covid pandemic’s third wave.
