Karkala: College student accuses distant relative of rape

Karkala: A young woman studying here has accused a distant relative of her of raping her.

In her complaint filed at the Karkala police station, she had stated that she was introduced to the man by her paternal uncle. He had taken her to Uppinangady after offering to drop her to college and raped her at a house there.

The rape accused allegedly threatened to publish the video of the rape if she ever revealed it, the complaint read.

The man then on January 12 again forcibly took her to a house near Guddeangadi on his bike and raped her, the complaint further states.

It was reported that the rape accused is 38 years old and is married.

Karkala town police station officials are investigating the case.
