Karkala: Driver gets trapped inside car after collision, rescued by fire dept

A person was critically injured following a collision between two cars that occurred near Gomateshwara Hill in Karkala on Saturday, November 9.

The Omni car in which the victim, Sandesh, a resident of Moodbidri was travelling was completely crushed due to the impact of the collision.

A seriously injured Sandesh was unable to escape from the wreckage. Despite police efforts to rescue him, they couldn’t extricate him from the vehicle.

The fire department was then notified, and they finally cut open the car door with specialized equipment, successfully rescuing Sandesh and transporting him to the hospital.
