A young woman, the victim of a gang rape, was discharged from the hospital on August 28 and has been presented before a magistrate. The investigation into the case has intensified, with authorities probing links to a drug-peddling network that reportedly extends from Tirupati to Bengaluru.
On August 24, the accused Altaf had allegedly lured the woman, administered intoxicants to her, committed the rape, and then called the other accused to join in. In this case, police have arrested Altaf, Shrawed Richard Quadros, and Abhay. Two additional suspects are also in custody and are being interrogated. Among these, one hails from Shirva and the other from Bangalore.
The investigation has revealed that the drugs given to the victim were sourced from Bengaluru and Tirupati, leading the police to take Abhay and the other suspects to these cities for further investigation.
The case has garnered significant public interest, with the investigation revealing the involvement of a large drug mafia. Authorities are now actively searching for the individuals behind this drug network.
