Three people were arrested by the police for illegally transporting explosives on scooters through the Sanoor Murathangadi election check post.
The accused have been identified as Nagaraja, Shankara, and Raghavendra from Pacchanady in Mangaluru.
On April 28, the Karkala police were conducting vehicle checks at the Murathangadi election check post when they intercepted two scooters heading towards Karkala from Moodbidri.
Upon inspection, the police discovered 30 electrical detonators intended for use in explosives. The vehicles and the explosives were seized, and the suspects were taken into custody.
The arrested accused are currently in judicial custody. A case has been filed at the Karkala police station.
