Karkala: Concerns over possible Naxal activities in Eedu, a village in Karkala taluk nestled in the Western Ghats, have prompted a large-scale combing operation by the Anti-Naxal Force (ANF).
The search is focused on areas surrounding the Muslim Colony and Bandekallu in the dense forest zones of the Ghats.
Rumors circulating among locals suggest that suspicious individuals have recently been seen moving around the village’s outskirts, raising suspicion of potential Naxal presence.
Despite questioning residents, the ANF has yet to gather any conclusive evidence or leads, but the operation continues with heightened vigilance.
Following intelligence hinting at a possible incursion by Naxals into the Western Ghats region of the coastal belt, the ANF has intensified its combing activities, which commenced early Thursday morning. The search effort underscores the ANF’s proactive measures in addressing potential threats and ensuring regional safety.
