Karkala: Tourist vehicle catches fire in Kudremukh; No casualties reported

Karkala: A tourist vehicle from Udupi caught fire in Kudremukh, located in the Western Ghats, on Saturday, December 14.
The vehicle, carrying 11 passengers, was en route from Udupi via Mala through Kudremukh to Kalasa when smoke and flames suddenly erupted inside. Within moments, the fire spread throughout the vehicle.
Fortunately, all passengers, including the driver, quickly evacuated the vehicle, averting any casualties. However, the fire completely engulfed the vehicle in a matter of minutes.
A team from the Karkala Fire and Rescue Department arrived at the scene and managed to extinguish the fire. Arrangements were made to transport the stranded passengers safely to their destination.
The fire-fighting operation was led by Karkala Fire Station Officer Albert Monis and Assistant Station Officer Chandrashekhar, along with key team members Nityanand, Jay, and Mujambil.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
