Karkala: Woman enroute to hospital dies after being delayed at police checkpost

Karkala: A woman suffering from chest pain and on her way to the taluk hospital here died allegedly due to delay in receiving treatment after their vehicle was stopped at a police check-post.
The deceased has been identified as Manjula (33), a resident of Nallur.
Manjula was being taken to the hospital in the family car. Police officials at the Bajagoli check post stopped the car stating that private vehicles are not allowed and asked her family members to call an ambulance and take her to the hospital in it.
When the police officials did not relent after many requests, the family decided to take another road to the hospital.
However, after reaching the hospital she died due to the delay in administering treatment.
