Bengaluru: KPCC President D K Shivakumar, leader of opposition Siddaramaiah and KPCC Working President Eshwara Khandre were arrested by police here while they were holding a protest rally.

The State Congress unit had organised the rally, branded as “Prajaprabhutva Rakshisi-Sanvedhana Rakshisi” (Save Democracy-Save Constitution), to protest the toppling of non-BJP governments in Rajasthan and other States.

The police had taken the three leaders to the Ashok Nagar Police Station after arresting them and later released.

D K Shivakumar and a State Congress delegation led by him were scheduled to meet the Governor at 4 pm. However, the meeting could not occur as he was left from police custody after 4 pm.
