Bengaluru: The state education department has said that private schools will have to follow the guidelines as set per the department to collect fees.
Principal Secretary of the department of primary and secondary education said that an official notification would be published soon.
However, some Block Education Officers (BEOs) suggest the schools to fix the fees before the official notification being released.
At the same time, general secretary of Karnataka Associated Managements of Primary and Secondary Schools (KAMS) D. Shashikumar pointed out the fact that no government has been instilled with the power to determine a rigid fee structure for private unaided schools.
“Regulation of fee is completely different from fixation. We have always been supportive of the former and has been with the state government to ensure this in a legit manner,” he said.
