Karnataka govt issues guidelines on Ganeshotsav celebrations

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has issued new guidelines on the celebrations of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival falling on August 22.

Following are the guidelines from the State Government on celebrating Ganeshotsav in the State:
– Celebrations to be inside temples and houses.

– No installing of Lord Ganesh idol in public places (streets, front yards, public ground etc.).

– Lord Ganesh idols cannot be immersed in rivers, ponds, lakes and public wells.

– Strict restrictions on the processions conducted during the arrival and exit of Lord Ganesh idols.

– Lord Ganesha idols installed in homes on must be immersed in the same premises.
