Karnataka Govt selects Justice P Vishwanath Shetty as Lokayukta

Bengaluru: Karnataka state government has decided to select Justice P Vishwanath Shetty for Lokayukta top post in a high level meeting of the collegium held on Monday in the state capital. Speaking to the reporters here, chief minister said that, the state government will send its recommendation to Governor Vajubhai Vala soon for Lokayukta post to get his nod.

Justice Vishwanath Shetty was the chief justice at Karnataka High Court and is senior lawyer at supreme court for the last 10 years. He was also served as the president of Karnataka Bar Council.  Karnataka Lokayukta has remained headless since the embarrassing exit of former Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao in December 2015.
