Karnataka Govt to provide LPG connections for poor from May

Bengaluru: The state government will provide new LPG connections to the poor from May 1, 2017, said Minister for Food and Public Distribution U T Khader.

Software has been designed for the purpose and new connections would be distributed through grama panchayats. The beneficiaries would be required to produce their Aadhar cards with their bio-metric details at their respective grama panchayat offices. Those who have applied for new connections under the Ujjwala scheme will also be provided with new LPG connections, the minister said.

The government will also distribute three liters kerosene to those who did not have an LGP connection. Those with LPG connections will be given one liter kerosene, U T Khader added.
