Vijayapura: BJP MLC C.T. Ravi accused the Congress-led Karnataka government of turning the state into a “house of death.” He alleged that deaths of mothers, infants, farmers, officials, and contractors are on the rise while the government engages in dinner politics and politics of vengeance.

Addressing a press conference in the city on Friday, January 10, Ravi criticized the Congress government for its indifference towards the recurring deaths of postpartum mothers, infants, and others.

He demanded an investigation into the causes of maternal deaths, whether due to negligence by doctors, faulty medication, or hospital conditions. He urged the formation of an expert committee led by a sitting judge to uncover the truth behind these incidents.

Ravi alleged that the government has created fear among the poor regarding public hospitals and questioned why no concrete measures are being taken to address the issue.

He accused the government of being insensitive and claimed that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, now in his second term, has lost empathy.

Further, Ravi criticized Congress for internal politics and corruption, stating, “This government lacks compassion and functions with a stone heart. Instead of focusing on infighting, the government should prioritize stopping the death toll. Corruption has reached 60%, and the government’s accomplishments are limited to MUDA, Valmiki, Ambedkar development corporation scandals, and price hikes.”

Former minister N. Mahesha also criticized the government, calling it “insensitive and development-deficient.” He accused the administration of mismanaging funds for guarantee schemes by raising taxes and excise duties, labeling it as an exploitative economic policy.

District BJP President R.S. Patil Kuchabala, leaders Chandrashekhar Kavatagi, Eeranna Ravoora, Chidanand Chalavadi, and Sabu Mashyala were also present at the press conference.
