Karnataka HC Justice Nagaprasanna hears 503 cases in a single day

Bengaluru: Known for his swift disposal of cases, Karnataka High Court Justice M. Nagaprasanna conducted hearings for 503 cases during the court session on Tuesday.

Operating from Court Hall 17 of the High Court’s principal bench in Bengaluru, Justice Nagaprasanna dealt with criminal petitions. He began proceedings at 10:30 AM and wrapped up hearings 45 minutes before the scheduled end of the day’s session, completing the examination of all 503 petitions.

Among these cases, 187 were resolved, while 125 received interim orders. The remaining cases were adjourned for future hearings.

Justice Nagaprasanna has previously set a record by hearing over 600 petitions in a single day. He was appointed as an additional judge of the Karnataka High Court on November 26, 2019, and was made a permanent judge on September 8, 2021. He is set to retire in March 2033.
