Karnataka legislature session begins with Governor’s speech

Bengaluru: Much awaited Karnataka governor Vajubhai Vala’s customary speech addressing joint sittings of the state legislature concluded on Monday here in the state capital. The governor during speech assured Karnataka people that the government and concerned authorities are ready to protect the interest of the people of Karnataka in issues Cauvery, Mahadayi and others. The first five day legislative session in the new year 2017 is scheduled to conclude on February 10.

Supporting the state government in his speech governor has said that, the government is committed to support the people in issues including drought, infrastructure development, crop damage and others. The government would support backward regions of the state including Hyderabad Karnataka, he said. 

Reacting to the speech of the governor, JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy said that, the governor has supported the government even if it failed to address the issues of the people including drought. JDS leader urged the state government to awake and start implementing new plans for the development of the people of Karnataka.
