Karnataka-origin Mala Adiga appointed as Jill Biden’s ‘Policy Director’

Washington DC: US President-elect Joe Biden has chosen Karnataka-origin Mala Adiga as the ‘Policy Director’ for his wife First Lady Jill Biden.

Adiga had served as a senior policy advisor on the election campaign of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Prior to that, she was also the director for Higher Education and Military Families at the Biden Foundation.

During the tenure of President Barack Obama, Adiga served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau for Educational and Cultural Affairs and the Chief of Staff in the Secretary of State’s Office of Global Women’s Issues. She was also the Director for Human Rights in the National Security Staff.
