Mangaluru: Karnataka police deployed earthmovers at an entry point from Kasargod district, Kerala to prevent residents from entering Dakshina Kannada.
As it is impossible to keep a check on each and every individual who crosses the border, Dakshina Kannada district officials are taking steps to block roads at an entry point to prevent the smooth flow of traffic.
However, the police officials were stopped by the locals. Opposing the move they staged a sit-in at the Talapady check post in Kasaragod.
They demanded smooth entry into Karnataka, without a mandatory RT-PCR certificate. The protestors were sent back by the police. Also, a man who tried to, cross the check post during the protest was taken into custody by the police officials.
