Bengaluru: The State’s police force will soon have its own ‘crime scene’ officers.
The officers will be trained at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in collecting evidences from and protecting a scene of crime.
Till now the experts from the FSL performed these tasks with the local police while the police officials would and protect a crime scene.
With police officials being trained in evidence gathering crucial time will be saved.
Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said that 206 posts have been sanctioned for the job.
On Tuesday, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa will formally hand over the orders passed in this regard to DG & IGP Praveen Sood at the Vidhana Soudha.
