Karnataka: Senior IPS officer and 2 constables test positive for COVID-19

Bengaluru: A senior IPS officer has been diagnosed with COVID-19 along with two police constables. The IPS officer is a Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) commandant and is now undergoing treatment at a designated COVID-19 hospital.

The IPS officer lived in the police quarters at Austin Town. After he was detected as COVID-19 positive, locals are now living in terror.

62 COVID-19 positive cases were detected in KSRP of which 11 are in Bengaluru city.

Two days ago, a police constable who was found COVID-19 positive committed suicide while en route to the hospital. With a senior IPS officer now testing positive many police personnel are in fear.

All contacts of the COVID-19 positive IPS officer is being tracked along with his travel history. All the offices he visited have also been sealed. Members of his household have been put under home quarantine.
