Karnataka: State govt observes ‘Mask Day’

Bengaluru: As the state is observing mask day on Thursday, June 18, the government organized a walk from Vidhana Soudha to Cubbon Park to create awareness about the importance of wearing a mask as a preventive measure against COVID-19.
Addressing presspersons after participating in the mask day walk, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said that the ‘Mask Day’ will be celebrated at all district headquarters today.
“A walk from Vidhana Soudha to Cubbon Park has also been organized to create awareness about the importance of wearing a mask as a preventive measure against COVID-19,” Yediyurappa added.
He further added that strict action will be taken against those who do not maintain social distancing and a fine of Rs 200 will be imposed on those for not wearing a mask in public places.
Till date 7,530 people have detected positive for COVID-19 in Karnataka.
