Karnataka Yakshagana Academy announces 2023 awards; Bannanje Sanjeeva Suvarna to receive prestigious Parthi Subba Award

The Karnataka Yakshagana Academy has announced the recipients of its 2023 awards, with the prestigious Parthi Subba Award being conferred upon renowned Badagutittu Yakshagana artist and guru Bannanje Sanjeeva Suvarna. The announcement was made by Academy President Dr. Tallur Shivaram Shetty during a press conference on Saturday, September 14. The awards will be presented at a ceremony in Mangaluru in November.
Bannanje Sanjeeva Suvarna, affectionately known as Guru Suvarna, has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to the Badagutittu style of Yakshagana. The Parthisubba Award carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, along with a citation and certificate.
