Karnataka: Yellow alert sounded in 8 districts including DK and Udupi

Mangaluru: A yellow alert has been sounded in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and six other districts after heavy rains lashed on Saturday, May 30 night.

A yellow alert has been sounded in Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Chamarajnagar, Chikkamagalur, Hassan, Kodagu, Mysuru and Shivamogga districts till Monday, June 1.

As per the weather forecast by meteorological department wind at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour is expected to be blown along with thunder, lightning and rain on May 31 and June 1 in the coastal belt and south interior parts of the state.

Meanwhile, in Badami, a woman died after being struck lightning.
