Karnataka cadre IPS officer posted to CBI as SP

IPS officer of Karnataka cadre P Krishnakant has been appointed as the Superintendent of Police (SP) within the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
As per an official order issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, P Krishnakant has been deputed to the CBI for a five-year term, which will commence from the date of his assumption of office until further orders
Krishnakant, hailing from Andhra Pradesh began his career in the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) in the 2014 batch and was initially stationed in Hyderabad.
Later, he was selected to the Indian Police Service (IPS) in the 2016 batch. Over the years, he has held various significant positions, including Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Udupi and Chikkamagaluru, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Hubballi-Dharwad, Superintendent of Police (SP) in Dharwad, DCP in southern Bengaluru, and SP within the Karnataka Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
In addition to Krishnakant’s appointment, R Ram Kumar from the 2015 batch of the Jharkhand cadre has also been selected for a central deputation.
