Karne 100; Umil 101!

Mangaluru: Finally, it clear which will be the 100th movie of Coastalwood. The Arjun Kapikad starrer ‘Karne’ movie will be releasing this month and as per the latest information, this will be the 100th film of Tulu cinema industry.

Currently, the 99th movie ‘Kori Rotti’ is running in theatres. Any movie getting released after this movie will be the 100th movie. Hence, according to the available information, nobody seems to be in a hurry to achieve the 100th title. Therefore, it is almost certain that ‘Karne’ is going to be the 100th movie.

Mostly shot in Malpe region with a plot revolving fishing, Karne movie’s cast will include some famous actors from Coastalwood. This movie has been created with a comedy mood. The teaser of the movie has garnered much attention. The movie has a unique storyline which includes action on the sea. The teaser has used a unique shot where three boats circle a boat in the ocean.

The main cast

The main cast of the movie includes Devdas Kapikad, Arvind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Saikrishna, Gopinath Bhat, Manju Rai Mulur, Vismaya Vinayak and other prominent actors. Sakshat Malpe has given the action cut to this movie which has been produced by Rakshith H Salian and Rakshith S Kotian. The music is by Raghu Dhanvantari. As per present information, the songs of the movie will be released in a few days.

Graphic technology

Amidst this, ‘Umil’ will be the 101st movie of Coastalwood and will be hitting the theatres this December.  ‘Umil’, which has been created under Bhavani Film Makers banner, produced by Karunakara Shetty, Prajnesh Shetty and Prajwal Shetty and directed by Ranjit Suvarna has gained the appreciation of being the first graphics movie of tulu cinema industry.

What is special is that for the first time in the history of tulu cinema, the Hindi dubbing rights for the movie has been sold for a huge price.  In this way, Umil has become a reason to feel proud that a tulu movie will be henceforth be shown on Hindi channels.

8 different roles

Many specialties are associated with Umil film of which, for the first time, Sandalwood power star Punit Rajkumar has sang a tulu song for the movie. The other specialty is that the audio rights of the movie have been bought by P.R.K. audio which is owned by the star. Another specialty is that Arvind Bolar, Umesh Mijar and Arjun Kapikad have also sung songs in this movie. Bojharaj Vamanjoor has portrayed 8 different roles in this movie. Naveen D Padil portrays the role of the protagonist in the movie. Sitaram Kateel, who is considered to be the Charlie Chaplin of Yakshagana will be acting for the first time in Umil movie. Ravi Basrur has given the music for the movie, while Harish Katpadi has done the editing and the cinematography is by Pavan Karkera.
