Kartikeya Ghorpade and H.R. Gaviappa join BJP

Bengaluru: Two well known personalities from Karnataka Kartikeya Ghorpade and H.R. Gaviappa joined Bharathiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday.

Kartikeya Ghorpade of erstwhile Sandur royal family in Karnataka and former Congress leader H.R. Gaviappa joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in presence of union ministers Ananth Kumar and Prakash Javadekar. Karthikeya Ghorpade is the son of Murarirao Yeshwantrao Ghorpade who was a seven-time Congress MLA from Sandur and once an MP from Raichur.

The new members were welcomed by BJP cheief Amit Shah. The assembly elections are due this year.
