Karwar: 4 tourists rescued from drowning at Gokarna Beach

Karwar: Timely action by lifeguards at the Gokarna Beach here saved four tourists from drowning.

The incident took place on Monday. The youths, who had arrived from Bengaluru, was swept away by the waves while swimming at the beach.

The rescued youths have been identified as Rituraj (26), Srikhanshu Gupta (28), Prashant Chandrasekhar (28), and Aarushi Bansal (27). They are reportedly employed in Bengaluru and had arrived in Gokarna on a trip.

On noticing them in distress, lifeguards promptly pulled them out of the water. After administering first aid at the beach, the tourists were taken to Gokarna Hospital for further medical care. They are said to be out of danger.

Gokarna police have registered a case in this regard.
