Karwar: COVID-19 positive thief tries to escape again, arrested

Karwar: A COVID-19-infected thief escaped from the COVID-19 ward of the Medical College of Karwar on Tuesday for the second time and he has been arrested by police on Wednesday, July 1.
As per sources, the police have managed to arrest him near Narageri near Shirwada in Karwar Taluk.
Last week, He was arrested in Dharwad in connection with a bike theft case in Sirsi and he was confirmed COVID-19 positive when he was examined for illness.
He was admitted to the COVID-19 ward in Karwar. However, he stole mobile phones of two infected persons in the ward on June 22 and later arrested near Kadra villege in Taluk and hospitalized again.
The thief managed to break the back door and escaped from the ward, once again on Tuesday. Now the police have arrested him and brought him back to COVID-19 ward of Karawar Medical College.
