Karwar: Five BJP workers injured in road accident

Five Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers were injured in a head-on collision between a tanker and a car on Friday near Harugar in Karwar taluk.

Nitin Raikar, an executive member of the BJP in Karwar, sustained severe head injuries and was admitted to a local private hospital before being transferred to Dharwad for further treatment.

The other injured workers, Gajanana Revankar, Sandesh Shetty, V.M. Hegade and Ullasa Kheni, suffered minor injuries and were taken to Shirsi Pandit Public Hospital for medical attention.

The accident occurred as the group was returning to Karwar after attending a district workshop in Shirasi.
