Karwar: Lab to be ready in 2 weeks

Karwar: A laboratory for testing viral-diseases including COVID-19 and Kyasanur Forest Disease could be operational in the district hospital in 15 days.
Mohammad Roshan, Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat here stated that the equipment worth Rs 80 lakhs will be installed in 10 days and work in the laboratory will start after Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) clearance.
Roshan further stated that the laboratory will be able to test more than 700 samples a day; the equipments can be used non-stop for 16 hours.
