Karwar: Police constable found hanging at DAR office

Karwar: A police constable allegedly hanged himself to death at the DAR office here on Wednesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Guruprasad Naik, 35, a resident of Haldipura in Uttara Karnataka district.

The incident came to light at around 10.30 am when woman personnel arrived in the office. She immediately notified her seniors about the suicide who then rushed to the spot.

He is survived by his wife and two children. The reason for the suicide is to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, Guruprasad’s colleagues suspect that he had taken a decision to commit suicide as he had returned the money he owed them today morning.

Guruprasad’s body has been sent for post-mortem.
