Kasaragod: ATS arrests Maoist leader Manoj

Kasaragod: In a swift operation, Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) personnel apprehended Maoist leader Manoj (35) from Ernakulam South Railway Station.

Manoj is accused in 14 UAPA cases. He was apprehended while returning from Brahmapur, where he had gone to collect money from his friends. Manoj had dropped out of a Mechanical Engineering course midway to join the Maoist group.

Manoj was part of a Maoist team operating primarily in Kerala, with Wayanad district as their main base. The Wayanad District Superintendent of Police had listed him among the most wanted persons.

Following the discovery of a landmine in the Wayanad forest recently, ATS intensified their operations, leading to Manoj’s capture.
