Kasaragod boat tragedy: Mortal remains of three missing fishermen found

Kasaragod: The mortal remains of three people who went missing after their boat capsized, were found on the beach at Bekal Kotikulam on the morning of Monday, July 5.
The deceased, Sandeep (34), Rathish (35), and Kartik (22), are residents of Kasaba beach.
On the morning of Sunday when the fibre boat in which seven people were aboard capsized, four swam ashore and were rescued while three went missing.
B Manikuttan (36), resident of Adkathabail beach, Ravi (22), resident of Kotikulam Kadappura, Shashi (35), resident of Nellikunje and Shibin (23), resident of Kasaba were rescued by fishermen in other boats.
Local fishermen, coastal police and fire service personnel had continued search till late into the night of Sunday for the missing people.
The mortal remains of three which washed ashore was noticed by fishermen, who informed the police.
The mortal remains have been sent to Kasargod general hospital for post-mortem.
