Kasargod: The district’s newly appointed DC Bhandari Swagat informed that a meeting in regard to the resumption of bus services of Mangaluru to Kasargod will be held with Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner.

Addressing the media, she asserted that most people from Kasargod commute to Mangaluru for employment and other essential activities, as a result of which transportation between the districts plays a huge role.

The bus services have been stopped amid the pandemic and the people of Kasargod were facing problems.

Swagat said, “This issue will be brought to the notice of Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner.”

Since the order cannot be withdrawn immediately, she said, “We will discuss this matter and take appropriate measures,”

Asserting the importance of containing the spread of COVID-19, she informed, “As of now, the testing rate is less, but in the coming days tests will be increased up to 40,000 per day.”

She also added about holding a meet to discuss the problems of Endosulfan victims.
