Kasaragod: Hotel owner murder case; Four including woman arrested

Police officials have arrested four individuals in connection with the murder case of a hotel owner in Malappuram.

The victim, identified as Mucheri Siddique (58), was a resident of Tirur Valur in Malappuram district and ran a hotel in Kallikote inner city.

On May 18 when the suspects rented a room in a hotel, where Siddique himself had booked two rooms. During the investigation, it was revealed that Siddique and the accused were occupying the same room. Tragically, Siddique was brutally murdered on the premises, and his body was then dismembered and packed into two trolley bags.

On May 19, the accused transported the trolley bags containing Siddique’s remains to Attappadi, where they discarded them in a ditch. The police managed to recover the bags with the help of the fire brigade.

The investigation further disclosed that an electric knife had been utilized to dismember the victim’s body. V

Following the act, the accused fled to Chennai from Attappadi. However, Siddique’s son lodged a missing person complaint with the police on May 24 and it was discovered that Siddique’s mobile phone had been switched off since then, and a substantial amount of money, totaling Rs 2 lakh, had been withdrawn using his ATM card.

The police then arrested Shibili (22), Farhana (18), Farhana’s brother Ghafoor, and Ashiq of Palghat Perlasheri in connection with the crime. The 18-year-old woman from Chennai, whose identity remains undisclosed, was among those apprehended.
