Parents and local activists have raised concerns over the appointment of a Malayalam-speaking teacher at Korikanda Anganwadi in Adoor, under Delampady Panchayat.
The appointment of a Malayalam-speaking teacher has made it difficult for Kannada, Tulu, and Marathi-speaking children to understand lessons.
This Anganwadi has 16 students, out of which 14, speak Kannada, Tulu, or Marathi languages.
Parents and the Kannada Rakshana Horata Samiti have petitioned multiple times for the appointment of a teacher proficient in at least two languages to facilitate better learning for the children in the region.
As their demand has not been met, both the parent group and the committee have decided to approach the High Court to seek action.
