Kasaragod: A high-level investigation has been launched into the mysterious death of a 24-year-old man, Rashid, son of Abdullah, from Muliyar Kaavupadi.

On December 11, Rasheed’s body was found in a sitting position under a tree at a distance from his residence. Rasheed lived in a shed near his home.

On the morning of the incident, Rashid’s mother, Ayeshabi, visited the shed to serve him tea but found him missing. She left the tea there and returned home.

When she tried to contact Rashid over the phone it was switched off. Growing suspicious, his mother and a friend, Askar, began searching for him and eventually found his body about 50 meters from the shed.

His family has raised suspicions of foul play and requested a thorough investigation. The body has been sent to Pariyaram Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination.
