Kasaragod: Three nabbed for possession of Ambergris worth Rs 10 Cr

Kasaragod: Three individuals were reportedly arrested for possession of Ambergris here.
The arrested accused have been identified as Nishanth K V (41) Kovalpalli of Kanhangad, Siddik (31) Madambillath of Muriyanavi, and Divakara (38) of Kottodi, reports said.
Ambergris worth Rs 10 crore was reportedly seized from them at the Green Land Tourist Home.
Possession or trading of Ambergris, a waxy substance secreted in the intestines of the sperm whale, is prohibited in India under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. Ambergris is usually found floating in tropical seas and used in perfume manufacture.
