Kasaragod: Viral video shows 9-yo girl being slammed onto ground; One arrested

Kasaragod: Shocking visuals of a minor girl standing on the roadside being slammed onto the ground by a youth without any provocation have gone viral on social media.
The incident reportedly took place on Thursday at around 7 am near Manjeshwar Udyavar.
The viral CCTV footage shows the man silently approaching the 9-year-old girl, picking her up, and then brutally throwing her onto the ground. After which, he is seen casually backing away as if nothing has happened.
The girl received serious injuries and has been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru.
The girl’s parents lodged a complaint a the Majneshwar police station about the assault. Based on the viral CCTV footage and a preliminary investigation, police have arrested the accused, identified as Abubaker Siddiqui of Kunjathur.
It is claimed that the accused is a drug addict, however, it is unclear if he was under the influence when the assault took place.
Further investigations are underway.
