Kasaragod: In a tragic accident, a 45-year-old woman, who fell onto the road from a two-wheeler, was killed after coming under the wheels of a lorry on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Ameena, wife of Adoor resident A K Mohammed. The accident took place near Adoor when the husband and wife duo with their child were riding a scooter.

Mohammed, who was driving the vehicle, lost balance when he applied brakes suddenly in a bid to avoid a collision with an oncoming car. As a result of which, Ameena was thrown onto the road and was crushed under the wheels of a lorry that was moving beside the two-wheeler.

Mohammed and the child reportedly escaped with minor injuries.

Adoor police have registered a case in this regard.
